Common questions
Choose the problem that matches your launcher message.
Play is disabled or updates failed
The beta requires an online check before Play. Close the game, check your connection and use Check updates again.
If verification still fails, record the exact message and the time. Do not combine mod builds or bypass the update check.
The launcher cannot find the game
In Steam, open Crimson Desert's Manage → Browse local files. Use Choose game in the launcher and select CrimsonDesert.exe in the game's bin64 folder.
Select the actual game executable, not a shortcut or the Steam application.
The game version is unsupported
A game update can require a new beta build. Check for a mod update and include the compatibility message in your report.
Choosing another folder will not make an unsupported game version compatible.
Steam is missing or builds do not match
Start Steam and sign in before opening the launcher. Have both players check updates and compare their game and mod versions.
Both sides need matching builds. Restarting alone does not resolve a version mismatch.
An update asks me to close the game
Exit Crimson Desert and finish the session before updating. The updater avoids replacing active game or co-op files.
If the message remains after the game has closed, include it in your report.
The game crashed, froze or showed a save warning
Stop the session and note the time before restarting. Ask the other player whether they saw the same problem or lost the connection. Record the shortest steps that reproduce it.
Keep the exact wording of any save warning and stop testing that save until the issue is investigated. Do not delete or relink saves as a general fix.
